# Grading and Verification

> Understand Iruka's two verification tracks, grading evidence, and vaulted-record requirements.

> **Status: In validation** - Inventory acceptance and grader workflows are
> being evaluated. BRG and CGC are not announced Iruka partners.

Iruka separates **pack rarity**, **physical condition**, **authentication**,
and **custody**. No single certificate or label proves all four.

## Two Verification Tracks

| Pack tier | Intended track | Required evidence |
| ------------------ | -------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Debut / Stage** | Iruka intake and authentication record | Item identity, front and back photography, condition notes, intake timestamp, tamper-evident seal, and storage record |
| **Encore / Grail** | Eligible third-party graded slab | Matching physical slab, official certificate lookup, grade, front and back photography, intake timestamp, seal review, and storage record |

The final acceptance policy will be published before commercial inventory is
listed. A low-value item is not automatically lower quality; it may use a
different verification track because third-party grading can exceed the value
of the card.

## Graders Under Evaluation

* [BRG](https://break.co.kr/) publishes its grading process and certificate
database. Iruka is evaluating its 12-step inspection model and record
  availability for eligible Korean photocards.
* [CGC Cards verification](https://www.cgcgrading.com/en-US/verify) provides an
official certificate lookup. Iruka is evaluating CGC's 10-point grading
  records for eligible slab inventory.

Reference to an official grading service does not establish a partnership,
endorsement, or acceptance guarantee. Iruka must verify the specific
certificate in the grader's official database and match it to the physical
item received.

## Public Inventory Record

An eligible public card record uses the following fields:

| Field | Purpose |
| -------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------- |
| `inventoryId` | Iruka's unique physical-item identifier |
| `grader` | Third-party grader or Iruka verification track |
| `certificateNumber` | Certificate identifier when applicable |
| `grade` | Published third-party grade or documented condition status |
| `verificationUrl` | Official verification record when available |
| `verificationStatus` | Current evidence review state |
| `frontImage` | Photograph of the received item's front |
| `backImage` | Photograph of the received item's back |
| `verifiedAt` | Time the evidence and physical item were matched |
| `custodyStatus` | Physical intake and storage lifecycle state |
| `redemptionEligible` | Whether the item can enter redemption |

Records without a third-party certificate use `grader: Iruka verification`,
leave `certificateNumber` empty, and publish the applicable condition and
intake evidence instead of inventing a grade.

## Verification States

| State | Meaning |
| ----------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| `Pending intake` | Record created; physical item not yet received |
| `Evidence review` | Images, identity, and certificate are being checked |
| `Physical match` | Received item matches the reviewed record |
| `Verified` | Authentication and condition evidence passed |
| `Rejected` | Identity, authenticity, condition, or evidence failed |

`Verified` is not the same as `Vaulted`. Vault status also requires custody,
storage location, ownership, and redemption records to agree.

## Vault Eligibility Gate

A card can be marked `Vaulted` only when:

1. The exact physical item has arrived.
2. Front, back, and identifying marks match the record.
3. Any certificate is valid in the official database.
4. The seal and condition are recorded.
5. The storage location is assigned.
6. The ownership record references the same `inventoryId`.
7. Redemption eligibility has been determined.

A valid certificate number without the matching physical item is insufficient.
